Selection Process:-

The selection process for both Pre-Matric and Post-Matric fresh applicants, as well as renewal applicants, is outlined as follows:

For Fresh Applicants: Given the fixed and limited number of NSP scholarships available for minorities each year, a preference system is established for selection. Selection criteria prioritize socioeconomic status over academic marks. Fresh applicants are required to provide an income certificate as per para-11(ii). In cases where applicants have the same income level, the selection will be based on the ‘Date of Birth’ criterion, with preference given to the senior applicant.

For Renewal Applicants: In the case of renewal applicants, there is no merit list generated. To qualify for a renewal of their scholarship, the applicant must have achieved a minimum of 50% marks in their previous year’s examinations. Additionally, the applicant’s application must be thoroughly verified by all designated authorities, as specified by the Ministry of Minority Affairs, and approved by the respective State Governments or Union Territories. Meeting these criteria ensures that renewal applicants are eligible to receive their scholarships for the subsequent year, provided they continue their studies at the same institute and in the same course.
